Rearranging Priorities

Have you ever heard that saying, “If the Devil can’t make you bad, he’ll make you busy?” So true. In our crazy, busy world we are soooo busy. So busy we rarely have or make the time for real, genuine relationships with believers in Christ.  We feel we’re doing good just to spend time with our immediate families, let alone others.

But, our God does not settle for that in our spiritual lives. So much so He commanded it of us. He said there were two commandments that outweigh the rest and that is to love God and love others as ourselves. He also said “As iron sharpens iron so does one man sharpen another.”

We need each other lovelies. To encourage, love, correct, spur on in the faith. And we cannot do that, if we don’t make time for one another.  The last year God has shown me more than ever how much I need others in Christ to help me grow in my walk with Him. It’s one part of the equation you simply cannot leave out if you’re gonna grow with Jesus.

Relationships are hard. They’re scary and difficult. But, man are they ever so good for us. They prune and pluck the ugly out of us. I think that’s part of God’s point. How we can ever gonna truly grow and get refined without them? We have to make the time.

So, I’ve made it a priority in my life to seek out my sister’s in the Lord that can sharpen me and help me grow. And to help younger believers to grow in their faith.  This is Jesus’ heart.

So, when you start making your list and checking it twice and doing a mental check of your priorities, put it on the list.  That one of your greatest priorities is gonna be relationships. Your relationship with Jesus and your relationships with other believers.

I promise you will not only be sharper for it, but blessed beyond measure.

Hebrews 10:24-Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
