Sometimes Girls don’t just wanta have FUN, they NEED to have FUN! (For any Lady that may have ‘Old Biddy’ Syndrome ;)

Zoom, Zoom, Zoom down the street I go,

Stop at the light, look to my right-

and there a sight to behold.

Two young girls a gigglin’ and a twirlin’

seemingly no cares in the world,

Light turns green, pedal to the metal-

and I wonder, “Where is that girl?”

That use to giggle and play,

make time for friends,

and laugh into all hours of the night?

I frantically look in the mirror,

 my hearts beats loudly-

as I realize my devastating plight.

My hair is a mess,

My face all a haggard,

and I need a voting committee.

To tell me how and where the girl

in me went-

and was replaced with this ‘Old Biddy’.

Did I lose myself in dirty socks, toilets

and the never-ending list?

What happened to JOY, CrAZy FuN

and just downright SILLINESS?!?

As I question my plight- my heart all

a fright-

I stop to listen and stare.

I must be dreaming- can’t believe what

I’m seeing-

there’s ‘Old Biddy’s’ everywhere!

Women with frowns, no joy in their step,

their smiles and lives being replaced,

With busyness, empty chaos, rats

surely caught up in the race!

So what are we ladies to do?!?

What is the remedy for our situation??

Grab your girlfriends-run for your lives!

 and have a “Goodbye to

‘Old Biddy’ Celebration!”

Laugh! Act crazy! Have uproarious fun!

and bring back that LONG LOST GIRL!

And when you get her back-

I promise this fact-

You’ll be one less ‘Old Biddy’ in the world!

Dear Girlfriends!

Can you tell I’ve had a revelation? 🙂

And I got it this last week. I was driving down the road and I look over and there are two young, teen girls twirling each other and laughing their heads off.

And I got a flash back of when I was a young teen and how fun and joyous it was to laugh like that. Then it hit me- just because I’m an adult now, why did I stop having moments like that?

Why do we as women when we enter adulthood do we let go of the little girl inside of us?

Do we do it purposefully or sub-consciously?

And why have we convinced ourselves that we are not good or worthy enough to have time for ourselves, for friendships, or for laughter and fun?

We think we have too many responsibilities, our families need us and we think we no longer have time for  us- let alone fun! That is a BOLD, FACED, LIE from the enemy my dear sisters!

Our families need us to be Refreshed. Restored. Energized. They need us to be FULLY ourselves- not just a glimmer of the woman we use to be. And that my friends will make us even better wives, mama’s and friends!

Jesus spoke something about this, He said, “Let the little children come to me…” He also said until we become like little children, we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. I’m not saying we have to be childish or immature. But, what I’m saying is we cannot lose our joy or childlike wonder.

Ladies we need each other.

Not just to do bible studies.

Not just to guilt each other into serving more.

We need each other for relationship! For Laughter and Joy! This world is crazy and so depressing.

Can we please make time for each other? To cut up and have a good time? To not take ourselves and lives so seriously?  I don’t know about you but, I don’t wanta be a grumpy, ‘Old Biddy!’

I wanta be a lady that is known for her Joy and Strength in the Lord, and for one that got crazy and silly A WHOLE LOT!

So I’m saying goodbye to being a ‘Old Biddy!’ And saying yes to acting crazy, silly and laughing my head off more than I’m supposed to. You wanta join me? 🙂
