The Way,The Truth and The Life {for those of us that get lost sometimes}

Friend do you ever lose your way?

Do you ever get to a place in your heart or mind where you just know you’re lost?

I do.

It’s not that I just wake up one day and have this epiphany of being lost. It’s more like things just start shifting. My temper gets the best of me more often. I’m more critical. I’m really busy and striving, but ceasing to see results. My peace and joy start missing.

And how about the truths in your heart? Do you ever lose them?

Now I know this is kinda going off on a rabbit trail for a moment, but can I tell you why I love Christmas so much?

Because it’s one day a year where The Truth about life and the absolutes we know in our hearts are present and acted upon.

We celebrate our Savior with a joyful spirit, we give others grace we wouldn’t normally give out, and desire to pour our love onto others.

Jesus knew we were going to struggle with losing our way, forgetting some important truths, and striving to make other things our “life” instead of Him alone.

And as much as we do this, as much as we may forget, it’s just as easy to get back on the path He exemplified for us.

To shift our focus back on Him and loving others, to return to a place of contentment and peace, to go back to seeing others through God’s eyes.

To crawl up in His lap and say “Abba I’ve lost my way, I’ve lost my focus, can you help me?”

It says in God’s word His mercies are new every morning.

Thanking God for that today.

Thanking God that when my heart or mind becomes that of a wayward daughter, He beckons me back, clears my stinking thinking, purifies my heart with His truth, and sets my feet back on solid ground.

So friend if you ever get lost and lose your way know you’re not alone.

But more importantly, remember, He made it easy to find your way home.
